This website is designed, built and operated by locals for locals. Our vision is to start at home and return governmental power to the citizens so that we will once again have government “of the people, by the people and for the people” in the manner President Lincoln spoke of and the US Constitution intended.
There are several systems at play that make up “business as usual” in Washington and prevent this basic principle. Three of the biggest are:
Because of these systems, too many of our elected officials do not take citizens’ opinions into account when making their final decision on a vote. Then, their offices do not release public feedback statistics on the issues. That cannot stand!
Previous studies show that elected officials do not have faith in the public to make informed decisions about issues. On the other hand, in “Who Wants To Be a Millionaire,” the audience provides correct answers at least 90% of the time. The more that citizens pay attention and participate, the better we can be at getting it right together, regardless of our different opinions.
This website can be our starting point to reclaiming our government. We have to do our part: stay informed, speak our opinions.
